Ramsay-HMO (NYSE:RMO) is a leading regional managed care organization. The Company was founded in 1970, and became Florida’s first licensed HMO in 1973. The Company began as a staff-model HMO in South Florida serving the rapidly growing Hispanic market. The Company evolved into one of the fastest healthcare companies in Florida and prior to its sale to United Healthcare Corporation (NYSE: UHC), in February 1994 the company offered an array of managed care products serving over 170,000 Commercial, Medicare and Medicaid members in South, Central and West Florida. Founders of MBF Healthcare Partners were both shareholders and executives in Ramsay-HMO. Ramsay-HMO was sold to United Healthcare Corporation (NYSE: UHC), in February 1994
