MBF Healthcare Partners is a partnership formed by Miguel “Mike” B. Fernandez, Marcio Cabrera and Jorge Rico. In 2004, after more than a decade of success building, operating, growing and selling healthcare businesses, the founding partners decided to band together to form MBF. The partners of MBF have substantial operating experience in healthcare and have held senior management positions in both private and publicly traded healthcare companies.
MBF principals have managed and helped build some of the nation’s most innovative and successful healthcare companies such as Acorn Health, Affinity Hospice Holdings, Rose Dental, Carisk Partners, Palm Medical Centers, Simply Healthcare Plans, Clear Health Alliance, Ramsay-HMO, Physicians Healthcare Plans, Medical Specialties Distributors, CarePlus Health Plans, CAC-Florida Medical Centers, Hospitalists of America, Atlantic Dental, Navarro Discount Pharmacies and Nutri-Force Nutrition.
Miguel “Mike” B. Fernandez currently serves as Chairman of MBF Healthcare Partners, L.P., a private investment firm located in Coral Gables, Florida. The firm focuses on investing in healthcare.
Marcio Cabrera is Managing Partner and Co-Founder of MBF Healthcare Partners. Mr. Cabrera was also Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Simply Healthcare Holdings, Inc., an MBF portfolio company.
Jorge Rico’s background includes over 35 years of experience within the healthcare industry, specializing in the development and implementation of strategic plans in both public and privately held companies.
