Healthcare Companies to Add 650 New Workers in Florida, Many in South Florida

By Marcia Pounds – South Florida Sun-Sentinel

MBF Healthcare Partners said Tuesday it expects to create nearly 650 new jobs throughout Florida in the next 18 months.

The bulk of the new hires will come from the expansion of the Navarro Discount Pharmacies, which is opening three new stores in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties this year. The company said it plans to hire a wide variety of employees including cashiers and pharmacists.

MBF Healthcare also announced that Simply Healthcare Plans, an HMO providing Medicaid managed care services,  is expanding statewide.  Professional and staff positions are currently being filled in Coral Gables, Orlando, Tampa and Jacksonville.

And clinical and office staff are being hired by Omni Home Health to fill openings in new nursing agencies and branches located in Tallahassee, Vero/Port St. Lucie, North Palm Beach, Sebring and Brandon.

Later this year, Nutriforce Nutrition is opening a softgel vitamin manufacturing plant in Miami Lakes.
