STOUGHTON, MA – Medical Specialties Distributors, LLC (MSD), a leading supplier of healthcare products and biomedical equipment rentals and services to the alternate site market, announced today that it has created a new Acute Care Rental and Service Division and will be driving new sales and rentals into the US hospital market. Ten (10) highly experienced, acute care territory managers have been recruited by MSD to spearhead the company’s entrance into the hospital medical equipment rental market.

Mike Rizzo, MSD’s President and CEO said, “The hiring of these knowledgeable sales managers clearly indicates MSD’s strategic intent to immediately enter the hospital rental arena with the same energy and desire to bring customer satisfaction that makes us the market leader in alternate site.”  Richard Worthen, MSD’s VP of Sales and Marketing added, “In our new Acute Care Program, MSD’s success and experience in the alternate site market serves as a springboard for MSD’s success in the acute care environment.  For the last several years more and more hospitals were reaching out to MSD to serve their rental and service needs which was a simple transition for us.  Now with our new expanded acute care sales and operations team in place, focused 100% on hospitals, we expect to provide an even higher level of service in these focused markets.”

In order to support this exciting new business model, MSD has also pulled together several powerful acute care customer support teams throughout the US.  MSD’s new Acute Care Operations Managers are directing these teams, utilizing their long-term industry experience in equipment acquisitions, biomedical services and delivery logistics into the hospital marketplace.  MSD is a portfolio company of MBF Healthcare Partners, LP, a private equity firm focused on investments in healthcare.
